Welcome!

My name is Elisabeth and I am a Licensed Counselling Therapist Candidate (LCT-C). Most of my practice is focused on working with folks who are affected by trauma, burnout or anxiety. On our journey you can expect to gain a deeper understanding of the patterns that play out in your life. We will discover the strategies and strengths that have helped you survive and use them as a starting point to foster resilience and healing.

We will also work collaboratively on tools and skills that will allow you to feel better equipped to face life events. Value exploration and self-discovery will be part of our work together. My goal is to empower you so you can be your authentic self; a self in tune with your thoughts, feelings, and body.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is collaborative. Together we will start by building a therapeutic alliance based on trust and honesty. Once that is established and once I’ve gathered an understanding of where you’re at, I will tailor our sessions to match your preferences and needs. I draw from multiple evidence-based approaches and will combine them in a manner that fits you.

Here are some of the counselling theories that I use in therapy:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Internal Family System (IFS)

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

Your therapy journey

When we begin out work, we will meet either online or in person. The first couple of sessions will be about getting to know you, your life circumstances and establishing our therapeutic alliance. After that, we will start to take a deeper dive into what brought you to therapy and work on your desired goals.

The frequency of sessions or number of sessions is unique to you and your needs. Frequency of sessions will probably vary as we continue our work together based on things like where you’re at in your healing journey, how busy life gets, what you feel works best for you.

Someone walking on a path

My Background

In the therapy setting, I take a wholistic approach and believe that wellness is made up of four parts: emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual.  I recognize that everyone is unique with their own culture, values, family dynamics, and past experiences. I see working with each of my clients as a privilege where I am offered the chance to walk alongside them on their journey to change, progress, and self-discovery. I am fluently bilingual and am able to offer therapy in English and French.

As part of the queer community, I understand the significance of creating a safe, non-judgmental space. I meet you where you are and work with you to achieve the goals or progress you set for yourself. My personal life experiences have shaped my passion for promoting inclusivity and diversity in mental health care. I'm dedicated to fostering an environment where you feel seen, heard, and valued.
